Since 2004 I have been running printmaking workshops for adults at Red Hot Press Print Workshop in Southampton.
I specialise in Lino and woodblock printing, particularly focusing on use of colour and multiple blocks.
I also run courses in experimental monoprinting using stencils and layering of colours.

My aim is to make people’s experience of printmaking an enjoyable one, so they leave with great results and a good grounding in the techniques they have learned.
I am available to give talks and demonstrations to Art groups and I am on the Hampshire Women’s Institute list of approved speakers.

I have worked widely in education from one-off sessions at school art weeks to year long projects with primary schools. Through work with Creative Partnerships I have experience of managing projects with large budgets and several creative partners.

These include:

More than Just a Cookbook
: Lead artist and Project co-ordinator. This project looked at Healthy Eating in schools through Visual Art, Dance and Film-making. This year long project culminated with the premiere screening of a film made by the children at Harbour Lights Picture House and a printed cook book of recipes provided by the children, parents, teachers and creative partners.

The Bigger Bang: As lead artist on this project run as part of the Aimhigher
scheme I worked in two Isle of Wight Secondary Schools liaising with and working alongside chemists from the University of Southampton and a representative from Paynes Fireworks in Wiltshire. The aim of the project was to raise young people’s aspirations and knowledge of the arts and science as a career path.

Museum of Garden History, Lambeth: A one-day workshop with printmaker Kate Dicker. Using simple printmaking techniques and referencing the work to old images of plants and flowers. Children and parents were able to recreate their own engravings.

I am fully CRB checked.
